A Celebration of Whitney’s life

Whitney Houston will be laid to rest in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday beside her father, John Russell Houston, at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.

The 48 year old singer was found dead in a hotel in Los Angeles a week ago.
The funeral was held in a Hope Baptist church that she grew up in during her childhood.

The funeral was attended by about 1500 of Whitney’s family, friends and colleagues from the music industry.

Whitney’s coffin was draped with white roses and purple lilies
and transported to the church and cemetery in a gold hearse.

Amongst the mourners were many celebrities including;
Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, R Kelly, Al Sharpton, Kevin Costner, Roberta Flack, Alicia Keys, Bobby Brown, Rev Jesse Jackson, The Mayor and Governor of New Jersey.

The funeral service was a celebration of Whitney’s life.
Stevie Wonder wrote some special words and sang them to the tune of one of his favourite songs – “Love’s in need of love today”.

The eulogy was given by Pastor Marvin Winan.

Whitney is immortalised in her music. She will be remembered forever by her family and millions of adoring fans.

Fans will always sing along to – “I will always love you”!
