Arsenal targets super Mario
Arsenal latest target is Mario Gotze from Borussia Dortmund.
There is room in the Premiership for another Mario but at what price?
Bundesliga star Mario Goetze (19) is valued at £30 million. That really is a bit pricy.
If Mario is worth £30 million, how much is Robin van Persie worth?
And, why did Arsenal get just £35 million for Cesc Fabregas?
Wenger has gone off the rails if he lets a little criticism cause him/Arsenal to loose all his business acumen.
Even in desperation Arsenal should not pay that much for a starlet.
Even Manchester City’s would think twice before splashing the cash on Gotze. Mancini only goes to the bank for well established world class players.
Remember when Chelsea rushed for their cheque book and spent £50 million on Torres. I bet they are regretting that now.
And what about the £35 million paid for Andy Carroll. How long will Liverpool have to wait to get a return on that deal?
Paying monopoly money for players won’t guarantee a good performance from them.
With that sort of cash Arsenal can buy 2/3 quality players to strengthen their weakened squad. Even clubs like Manchester United can stumble when a few of their top players get injured simultaneously.
Arsenal is in for a testing time over the Christmas period, unless Wenger gets more from some of the players he already has.
