Premiership Early review

Aug 14, 2011 Comments Off by

The Premiership has started with a bang, not a whimper! Which ever way you look at it ,it is certainly a bright start to the season.

The teams from the lower echelons of the table have managed to hold their own and not capitulate in the opening game of the season.

The super-league teams have all started their season with just 1 point from their first game, with exception to Manchester United who managed to beat West Brom by a narrow 1 goal margin.

What this means

It means that the other teams aren’t willing to lie down – at least not yet.

All the players are still motivated, hungry, fresh and keen to earn their humongous salaries, regardless of which badge they wear on their shirt.

The players who were expecting to be transferred before the start of the season and haven’t, had plenty of time to get it out of their system.

Impending financial ruin

This season can make or break many clubs if they don’t get their acts together. Consequently, it was heartening to see them fight hard and earn their first point.

Hopefully, this will be the start of something new and exciting for the Premiership. Otherwise, it’s a foregone conclusion as to how the league will look after 38 more games.

Prediction for end of season

  1. Manchester United
  2. Chelsea
  3. Arsenal
  4. Manchester City
  5. Liverpool
  6. Tottenham Hotspurs

Not much change here! I hope I’ve got this wrong.

Promoted

New boys Norwich, QPR all had a testing time with QPR realising that the Barclay’s Premiership is a world apart – even for Championship kings. Swansea must find a way to thwart Manchester City(on Monday), who have everything to prove this season.
