Cook gets Steve’s Job
Tim Cook got the top job at Apple after Steve Jobs resigned as CEO.
Jobs will now takes a back seat as the chairman of Apple‘s board of directors.
In the late 1970s, Jobs, with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Mike Markkula, and others, designed, developed, and marketed the Apple II series, one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers.
Steve Jobs, the man, the innovator, will be truly missed and Apple will have to work hard and smart to replace him.
Apple are still riding high on sales from their desirable ipod, iphone, ipad, apps and itunes. Steve Jobs has left Apple on autopilot.
Under Jobs, the company reached the pinnacle for tech companies, manufacturing and selling computers, consumer electronics and communications products.
However, Apple now has to fend off competition from juxtaposing behemoths like Google, Microsoft and Rim. Apple is also embroiled in court battles over patent infringements as well.
There are some troubled times ahead and Tim Cook will have to stick close to the core principles that Jobs instilled at Apple. He will have to hit the ground running if Apple is to keep momentum and continue to dominate the tech markets.
Tim Cook is not an innovator like Steve Jobs but he will be expected to steer the company through the tough times ahead as the competition sharpens their knives and rolls out Apple like products with more competitive pricing.
Nokia, Google, Microsoft, RIM et al have learnt a few things whilst watching and adoring Jobs over the past few years, hence, they have now started to compete by offering their range of new innovative and designer products.
Steve Jobs has had poor health for a number of years and the pressures which comes with the job of being of being the top tech visionary in the world has not been conducive. Hopefully, his latest move will result in improved health so he can enjoy the rest of his life free of boardroom stress and strife.
