The Premiership last quarter

Manchester United is poised to win the Premiership as the top 4 teams push on into the final fourth of the football season.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are in hot pursuit of Manchester United and are all still in with a chance. This season has been one of the most competitive Premier Leagues for a long time and fans are excited about the final outcome at both ends of the table.

All the ‘W’ teams plus Birmingham and Blackpool are precariously placed in the drop zone. It must be hard for their fans to still enjoy watching them. But that’s what fans are for.

The season has been dominated by the big spending of Manchester City and the extravagance of Chelsea in acquiring the out of form Fernando Torres (£50m). Newcastle also parted with their young rising start Andy Carroll ($35m) and Manchester United followed suit with signings of Hernandes, Smalling and Lindegaard.

Surprisingly after such an amazing season the usual suspects are in the top half of the table, so not much has changed afterall.

The biggest losers of the season could be Arsenal. They have one chance left to secure some silverware after a disappointing and unimaginative season.
