World Cup Semi Finals

The World Cup so far has been a spectacle without being a thriller. The big teams England, Italy, Argentina, France and Brazil have all gone home and this has made the tournament less exciting for some.
Some conclusions can be drawn from the exodus of so many ranked teams filled with ‘world class’ players. One such conclusion is that ‘world class’ needs to be redefined. Just being a Premier league player no longer qualifies you as world class.

Also more managers and coaches should look at their management styles and implement the 21st century changes needed to help their teams play entertaining and interesting football.

Managers still need to instill discipline and espouse fairplay as important parts of the beautiful game.

FIFA also has a major role to play in the development of the game. The call for goal line technology can no longer be ignored and some device will soon have to be deployed to silence all the proponents of the extra assist for referees.

FIFA also has to stop the shirt pulling and niggly needless fouls which frightens players and curtails creative play.
